Physical Education

Physical Education and Sport is an integral part of the student experience at Broome Primary School. Our school’s Physical Education Program has been designed to engage all students, developing skills and understanding through a variety of traditional and modified sports, as well as games with a focus on developing fundamental movement skills.

The school participates in interschool sporting events with Broome and West Kimberley school throughout the year, including:

Term 1: Faction & Interschool swimming carnivals; Garnduwa basketball carnival

Term 2: Faction & Interschool cross-country carnivals; Broome and Derby football and netball carnivals

Term 3: Faction & Interschool athletics carnivals

Term 4: Beach cricket & soccer carnival

Health and physical wellbeing is a priority at Broome Primary School. As part of the Health and Physical Education Program there is an emphasis on the development of life skills to encourage resilience, respect and confidence, to allow students to reach their full potential. 

Our school’s Physical Education Program provides students skills and knowledge to be able to participate successfully in a variety of physical activities that promote positive attitudes to health and lifelong physical activity participation.
